October 21st 2002 saw the release of a new limited edition 12"
EP by The Human League, Dance Like A Star, on the Black Melody
label. |
| The
EP contains six previously unreleased tracks, dating from 1978 and
early 1979, prior to the League's signing to Virgin Records. Further
details of the EP can be found here,
and it can be pre-ordered from the Black
Melody site while stocks last. |
|

|
| The
EP was followed on November 11th 2002 by a CD compilation of
early recordings by The Human League and their earlier incarnation,
The Future. |
|
Entitled The Golden Hour Of The Future, the CD features
two tracks from the Dance Like A Star EP, plus a further
18 unreleased tracks, dating from 1977 to early 1979. |
| The
CD was compiled by Richard
X (aka Girls On Top, responsible for the Being Scrubbed
'bootleg' mix of The Human League's Being Boiled and
TLC's No Scrubs, the recent Sugababes
chart-topper Freak Like Me, and the Being Nobody
single with Liberty X, etc) with the assistance of the League's
current engineer David Beevers, and Sean Turner of Ex-Rental
(whose demo cover of the League's The Black Hit Of Space
is available exclusively here). |
| The
Golden Hour Of The Future is also released by Black Melody,
and should be available from all good music stores. Further
details of the CD can be found here. |
| To
mark the release of the EP and CD, a special launch party was
hosted by The
Fan Club in London on Saturday 5th October 2002, attended
by past and present Human League musicians... |
